WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR EYE EXAMINATION
An eye examination is a thorough assessment of your vision and eye health.
The examination will involve a discussion of any symptoms you are experiencing, relatives with eye conditions, and any medication you are on.
The optometrist will run a series of tests designed to test your vision and assess the health of your eyes.
Finally, you will be given a chance to discuss the optometrist’s recommendations and any questions you might have.
We offer both private and NHS examinations so you can choose the best option for you – in any case, we work hard to ensure your examination is effective, thorough, and comfortable.
CHILDREN'S EYECARE
Many children struggle in school because of an undiagnosed eye condition or visual impairment. For that reason alone, it’s important to take them in for regular eye tests.
Our eye examinations are designed to be interactive and are carried out by our long-serving optometrists, so your children will feel part of the experience and may learn something new about taking care of their eyes.
The tests themselves will examine your child’s vision and overall eye health to ensure that their eyes are developing normally.
Children's eye examinations are also free through the NHS if your child is under 16 or under 19 and in full-time education, along with vouchers that help with the cost of glasses. Follow this link to view the NHS entitlement, or contact our friendly team to find out more.
NHS EYE TEST ENTITLEMENT
If you receive an NHS optical voucher, please contact us to book an appointment and bring proof of your eligibility with you. If your glasses or contact lenses cost more than your voucher value, you will have to pay the difference.
ENHANCED EYE CARE WITH OCT TECHNOLOGY
As part of our examinations, you can have a digital image of your eyes created using OCT or Optical Coherence Tomography.
OCT uses a special kind of light to create detailed images of each individual layer of the eye that can then be instantly represented for an optometrist to examine.
This technology allows our team to examine the health of the back of the eyes and identify potentially sight-threatening conditions such as glaucoma or macular degeneration before they become a problem.
An OCT scan is part of our exceptional range of technology that allows us to provide the best testing and eye care available.
WHAT IS OCT?
Ocular Coherence Tomography is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages.
